Jacob Langvad is a Danish creative director and still-photographer. His photographic work is based around fashion, portrait and advertising photography. Jacob Langvad has worked with exclusive, internationally recognized commercial clients and magazines, as well as for humanitarian causes.
Jacob Langvad’s work can be described as having an unembellished, yet informed documentary style. His portrait and commercial work reflect an intense labor of subtlety and precision, where any evidence of manipulation comes across as completely natural or non-existent.
After graduating from the Danish School of Journalism in 2003 with a degree in photojournalism, Jacob Langvad received a 1-year scholarship to FABRICA, Benetton’s Communication Research Center in Italy, where he moved to work as an artist in residence.
Since 2004, Jacob Langvad has lived between New York City, London, Copenhagen and São Paulo. He has worked in Haïti, Croatia, Israel, Iceland, USA, Estonia, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, People’s Republic of China, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Mexico, among other places.
From 2006 to 2007, Jacob Langvad worked as founding photographic director of Vs. Magazine, and from March 2007 to May 2008, he worked as founding visual director and photographer at BOLA Sociology Design in São Paulo. Currently, Langvad can be found sharing time between New York and São Paulo.
